Session Meeting: Church Session will meet on Saturday, June 7 at 1:00 p.m.
Game Night this Saturday! Come and play games with us this Saturday from 4-7 p.m., after the Session Meeting. Bring a snack to share and your friends and family to join in the fun!
Clean-up - Thank you! Thank you to all who came out to work on the church grounds and facility last Saturday, and for the workers who provided the delicious breakfast, too! We could not have picked a better day to get together and use those muscles for the work of the Church. We also wish to thank the huge representation from IAFCJ Church, because we could not have made such wonderful progress without them. We cleared out weeds, leaves, and overgrown holly bushes from the gardens and cleared the rocks and repaired the landscape materials around the central bed. We even planted a few flowers that should really show themselves this fall. It was a very good time of ministry and fellowship as we worked to beautify this house called Faith.
State of the Church: Please check your email for an important message from Session regarding the State of the Church message, which was presented on Sunday, June 1.
Men’s Fellowship: The Men of Faith will be getting together at the church on Monday, June 9, at 6:00 p.m. for a light meal and fellowship. Ask Bud Averill for details.
Americana: Heroes and Heroines: On Sunday, June 29 at 6:00p.m., Asbury Church’s choir and orchestra will perform a free concert paying special tribute to our Heroes and Heroines. Some of the music will be serious and some silly, but all will be fantastic and fun. Mark your calendar today!
Well Woman Health Clinic: Asbury church has graciously accepted the call to host the October Well woman Clinic. Volunteering is still crucial! If you have volunteered before, follow the same procedure and select the Well Woman Clinic at Asbury. New volunteers may apply with Good Samaritan at this link: Good Samaritan Health Services VOLUNTEER - Good Samaritan Health Services. Let’s demonstrate how Faith Church witnesses the restoring love of God by serving the community through this wonderful ministry.
Mowing, THANK YOU! Our Pastor has taken on maintaining the seasonal mowing services this year. The session wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks, as this is a need that has brough about great stress to our Session for a church of our size. The financial savings that Pastor Keith’s service brings are significant and greatly appreciated. He could always use help with additional lawn care needs, so if you find yourself wishing to serve this Faith community in the way, please reach out and let Pastor Keith know.
Update - Bible Study Fellowship: begins in September! BSF.org is a Para-ministry that works alongside existing churches. BSF believes that people discover their true purpose and identity by knowing God through His Word. That is why BSF offers free, in-depth Bible studies in the community for people of all ages around the world. This next study, Exile and Return, takes us on a powerful journey through the Old Testament, where God’s people were called to build His kingdom in a foreign land. Their story is our story—we, too, are strangers in a broken world, called to build for His glory. As we explore how God equips and positions His people, we’re challenged to ask: Am I building my life for Christ? Exile and Return reminds us that our time to build is now. Books included in this next study: Ezekiel, Daniel, Ezra, Esther, Haggai, Zechariah, Nehemiah, and Malachi. There are many classes scheduled to give you a deeper way to study together, but registration in advance is necessary to line up the teachers. Please see Diane Dodrill with your interest to participate and she will get you plugged in to a ministry day and time that will work for you. More information will be made available as class time approaches, but you may visit their website now to learn more: Exile and Return - Bible Study Fellowship
Food For Life: We continue to collect non-perishable food items for the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. Please bring your donations to the Narthex for pick up at the end of the month. Thank you for your steadfast support of our community!
Weekly Prayer Gathering: Do you believe that God hears your prayers? Believing that God hears you is one main component of faith. Believing that He responds is another. God does hear our prayers. He hears the words that come out of the mouth (Phil 4:6) and those that are whispered from the heart (Rom 8:26), and He answers us each time we call upon Him. We may not always understand His response, but we must trust in it, which is the most important component of faith. We invite you to faithfully join Pastor Keith here at Faith Church each Wednesday morning in the War Room from 9:30-10:30 a.m. as we join to invite God into our situations. Please also consider joining us in the Spirit, wherever you are, and at the same time.
PLAN AHEAD FOR FACILITY NEEDS: If you are planning to host a special church outreach event or would like to use the church facility for a private event, much more advanced notice will be required to prevent facility conflicts. Be sure to email Kristin at faithchurchchp@gmail.com to check building availability and to reserve your date/time. Also, remember to submit an Event Submission Form to the Clerk of Session, Bud Averill, in a timely manner to ensure your facility accommodations can be arranged. There are copies available in the Narthex and on the bulletin board outside the Fellowship Hall.
Prayer List: Faith Church is a praying church and our Prayer List is kept updated weekly. When names have been on for a month, they will automatically drop off unless you put them back on. If you added someone to the prayer list, please let us know how they are doing. During Life of the Body at the end of the church service, please take a look at your Prayer List insert and make sure you note down any changes to the prayer list. Take it home with you so that you may pray for them through the week.
Shepherding and Contact Lists: A new Shepherding List has been posted on the bulletin board. A new Members and Friends Contact List is available to those who wish to have updated contact information. Please also remember to keep your own contact information up to date. You can make changes to your information and/or pick up your copy from the office or by contacting our Secretary, Kristin Stephens.
Need Help? Do you or someone you know need immediate help with employment, homelessness, domestic issues or health crisis? The Session would like the friends and members of Faith Church to know that we are here to help. If you know of someone in need, please immediately refer them to our Pastor, Keith King, or to a Session Member, as we want to be the first point of contact for these types of requests. We are developing an action Plan to respond in a way that fully meets the needs of the individual and the Mission of our Church. We are here to advise and direct our friends and members to highly qualified individuals/organizations to handle any need presented. Most of all, we are a faithful community who is discovering, testifying and witnessing the restoring love of God. If you would like to be a part of the Caring Faith Ministry Team, please let your Session Member know and we will get you started.
Sunday Coffee Fellowship: Plan to join us in the Fellowship Hall after service every Sunday for fellowship, coffee, and a sweet treat.
