Join Us for a Daily Bible Reading Journey! We invite you to join us as we spend time each day in God’s Word and then come together for discussion every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in the Prayer War Room at Faith Church. This year, we will be using Tara-Leigh Cobble’s The Bible Recap—a general chronological Bible reading plan designed to help you stay engaged, understand Scripture, and connect more deeply with God. There are many ways to participate, you can choose the format that works best for you:
Printed Schedule: Available in the Narthex or at The Bible Recap website
Podcast: The Bible Recap
Website: thebiblerecap.com
YouVersion Bible App: Plans → The Bible Recap
YouTube Playlist: Includes video teachings and American Sign Language options
You can read, listen, watch, and even follow along in ASL. Never has starting a Bible reading plan been easier!
The Plan:
Dedicate 20 minutes each day to your Bible reading
Take notes on what stands out to you
Bring your notes to our Sunday discussion at 10:00 a.m.
Share how God spoke to you—or share your questions
We may not have all the answers, but through prayer, discussion, and discernment, we trust God will guide our understanding each week.
Why Read the Bible?
Every relationship requires discovery. To truly know someone, you must understand their character, values, expectations, and heart. The same is true with God. To know the Bible is to know God.
Join us as we look at Scripture through a fresh lens and intentionally spend time each day growing in our understanding of who God is and how He calls us to live.
Brrrrr...Are you cold? Pick up a blanket from the baskets near the door on your way into the Sanctuary. After service, you can drop it off in the used bin to be ready for next week.
Food For Life: We continue to collect non-perishable food items for the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. Please bring your donations to the Narthex for pick up at the end of the month. Thank you for your steadfast support of our community!
Bible Study Fellowship: Classes are going on now for Exile and Return, a study which takes us on a powerful journey through the Old Testament through the books of Ezekiel, Daniel, Ezra, Esther, Haggai, Zechariah, Nehemiah, and Malachi. There are many class opportunities to give your family a deeper way to study together. Please see Diane Dodrill if you are interested in participating so she can discuss workbook options and get you plugged in to a ministry day and time that will work for you. You may visit their website to learn more: Exile and Return - Bible Study Fellowship. You may also join our nightly Zoom Review that are held at 9:15 p.m. each evening for the opportunity to review each day’s lesson. See Diane Dodrill for a link to get you hooked up with us!
Weekly Prayer Gathering: Do you believe that God hears your prayers? Believing that God hears you is one main component of faith. Believing that He responds is another. God does hear our prayers. He hears the words that come out of the mouth (Phil 4:6) and those that are whispered from the heart (Rom 8:26), and He answers us each time we call upon Him. We may not always understand His response, but we must trust in it, which is the most important component of faith. We invite you to faithfully join Pastor Keith here at Faith Church each Wednesday morning in the War Room from 9:30-10:30 a.m. as we join to invite God into our situations. Please also consider joining us in the Spirit, wherever you are, and at the same time.
PLAN AHEAD FOR FACILITY NEEDS: If you are planning to host a special church outreach event or would like to use the church facility for a private event, much more advanced notice will be required to prevent facility conflicts. Be sure to email Kristin at faithchurchchp@gmail.com to check building availability and to reserve your date/time. Also, remember to submit an Event Submission Form to the Clerk of Session, Bud Averill, in a timely manner to ensure your facility accommodations can be arranged. There are copies available in the Narthex and on the bulletin board outside the Fellowship Hall.
Prayer List: Faith Church is a praying church and our Prayer List is kept updated weekly. When names have been on for a month, they will automatically drop off unless you put them back on. If you added someone to the prayer list, please let us know how they are doing. During Life of the Body at the end of the church service, please take a look at your Prayer List insert and make sure you note down any changes to the prayer list. Take it home with you so that you may pray for them through the week.
Need Help? Do you or someone you know need immediate help with employment, homelessness, domestic issues or health crisis? The Session would like the friends and members of Faith Church to know that we are here to help. If you know of someone in need, please immediately refer them to our Pastor, Keith King, or to a Session Member, as we want to be the first point of contact for these types of requests. We are developing an action Plan to respond in a way that fully meets the needs of the individual and the Mission of our Church. We are here to advise and direct our friends and members to highly qualified individuals/organizations to handle any need presented. Most of all, we are a faithful community who is discovering, testifying and witnessing the restoring love of God. If you would like to be a part of the Caring Faith Ministry Team, please let your Session Member know and we will get you started.
What is happening at Faith? On our website, you will find ways to volunteer, serve, donate, and worship. You will also find a current calendar of events with other opportunities to gather at Faith. When you sign in as a member, you can access your giving records, see this week’s announcements, see the most current prayer list, and obtain the most updated contact information for other members and friends. Come and visit our site, and please share the website with your friends! https://faithcpctulsa.churchtrac.com.
